Pointers Within Dreams?
My friend had a dream last night where it was her birthday party and everyone was invited. Everyone was there. Her partner, her best friend, other friends, parents etc. She put on a huge effort for everyone. Cooked food. Set everything up. It was an amazing party and everyone was having a great time... except her! No-one had remembered to give her a single birthday card. She was deeply hurt in the dream, but in the dream she tried to justify it (i.e. her friend is stressed at the moment, and another person is forgetful, another friend doesn't 'do' birthdays etc). But she still remained hurt.
She told me about the dream and I actually felt guilt (authentic guilt of course!). I worked out that I hadn't been there for her the past few months as my depression had got really bad and I was too much in a mess to be a good friend!
She s the sort of person who gives SO much to others. Her kindness and compassion is unparalleled compared with anyone I've ever met. She has phenomenal levels of empathy! Truly the most amazing person I have ever met. I have been kind to her so much, but I've not been there for her enough the past few months.
Much later on in the day I sent her this text after reflecting on that dream, and she said it sounded right and she asked me to blog it, so here I go:
I feel that if two people interact who are both being totally authentic then they interact in a blissful way, akin to the 'pushing hands' of qi-gong or tai-chi.

I thought your dream was important. If you are totally authentic with how you feel, then I feel your needs will be met by me and others more, as you will do or say what is right for where you are at. Same goes for me. I think we all get more love when we flow in this way. I hope that all makes sense. What I'm trying to say is that if we mask our needs then people don't tend to tune in to what we need, which means our needs mainly remain unfulfilled. I feel this is a large chunk of healing depression. I'm not saying people shouldn't be thoughtful anyway, I'm just saying we entice love towards us more when we send out the conscious (speech) or unconscious (beyond speech) message relating to our needs. Throat Chakra? The Yoga system often speaks of the throat Chakra in regards to our abilities to communicate our needs to others (spoken or otherwise). I don't believe in Chakras as actually real world entities, however I feel they are fantastic metaphors not dissimilar to Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
